The Importance of Maintaining Manners in Cemeteries
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once visited a cemetery and said:
"Peace be upon you, O inhabitants of this dwelling among the believers. If Allah wills, we will follow you."
(Hadith Narrated by Abu Hurairah, Sunan Abi Dawud)
This hadith teaches us to:
- Greeting : Greeting the grave occupants as a sign of respect.
- Remembering the Hereafter : Visiting graves reminds us of life after death, while also educating the heart to be more ascetic towards the world.
