Educating children about death requires a gentle and wise approach. In Islam, death is not the end, but the beginning of life in the afterlife. Allah SWT says:

“ Every soul (is destined) to taste death, then to Us you will be returned (to receive your reward).”

(Surah Al-Ankabut: 57)

To facilitate understanding, use an approach that is appropriate for their age. For example, tell stories of the Prophets related to death, such as the story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son, Prophet Ismail (AS), or the journey of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on Isra' and Mi'raj. These stories help children understand the concept of the afterlife in stages.

Explain that death is God's decree and a journey to meet Him. Explain that worldly life is an opportunity to do good, appreciate blessings, and gather provisions for the afterlife.

Encourage children to ask questions and answer honestly based on Islamic teachings. When they lose someone or a pet, use that opportunity to instill the values ​​of trust, patience, and repentance.

With this approach, children not only understand the concept of death, but also deepen the meaning of life as responsible servants of God and prepared to face the afterlife with full faith.
